Le Musee Rodin – A Must-See in Paris

with No Comments

Today marks the 172nd birthday of famed sculptor and artist’s Auguste Rodin, who is probably best-known for his sculpture, “The Thinker” – which got a Google Doodle for today!

With dozens of museums scattered all around Paris, it can get very difficult to decide which ones to visit (aside from the Musee Du Louvre and Musee D’Orsay, two of the most popular ones).

However, if you get the opportunity, visit The Rodin Museum to get an up close and personal look at “The Thinker,” as well as some of Rodin’s other artwork – especially the daunting ‘Gates of Hell‘ – which was a piece that Rodin worked on and served to be a blueprint for some of his most famous sculptures, including “The Thinker” &  “The Kiss.”

There are beautiful gardens surrounding the museum, which hosts many installations of Rodin’s work.  When you’re in Paris, give this particular museum a shot!

Tell us!  Have you visited the Musee Rodin before?
