Travel Agents requesting early payment?????

Hi,
I just had a call from my Travel Agent this morning saying that the rest of my tour payment was due tomorrow even though I don't leave until August. This is the first that I have heard from them, even though I saw the travel agent two weeks ago, and no mention of final payment. Why is this so, when it states in the contiki brochure that the last final payment has to be made 6 weeks prior to the tour.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am really annoyed as there is no way I can come up with $5,00 by tomorrow!!!
