Athens airport to Dorian Inn - metro or taxi?

Wondering which is the best way to travel! I think the metro would be quicker, but I've heard a few stories about pickpockets, and I don't fancy trying to fend them off laden down with a suitcase and backpack!
That said, the taxis can be expensive and take a long time in rush hour.
Anyone with experience out there - what would you recommend?
