how much to spend on a suitcase?!?

My delimma with this - is that, well 1) i have to buy a new suitcase for my trip, thats forsure... but do I a) buy a cheapy knowing that its going to be tossed around alot and Id be okay to pay 50 bucks to toss it when I get back or b) get a good 100-200 dollar suitcase that will last through the trip (and hopefully forever!) but may get dinged up? How much have you spent on yours? and what should I do?
