Luggage on North American Tours

Going to be doing one of the North American tours and totally new to this... do I take a suitcase or large rucksack? I have a small Samsonite suitcase that I would prefer to take than a rucksack

Suitcase is fine. Thats all i’ve ever used on my US contiki tours.
