Miss predeparture meeting for a extra night in Amsterdam?

Hi All was wanting some advice on missing the pre departure meeting and heading off to Amsterdam on my own for an extra night there...
Questions...
1. Will i miss out on "bonding" with the group if I don’t go to the pre departure meeting and go over to Amsterdam with the tour? I don’t want to feel awkward
2. How do I go over to Amsterdam? Will i be able to pick my ferry ride ticket up from Contiki or will i have to pay for another ticket to go over?
3. What hotels do they normally stay in, in Amsterdam Id hopefully like to book into the same one so I don’t have to pack up and move again…
