Hiring a car in LA

Hi all,<BR>Has anyone hired a car in LA? <BR>We are looking to hire a car and drive to San Fran Yosemite National Park.<BR>Also where to stay and what to do in SF and Yosemite?<BR>Has anyone done that and how long did it take, any advice would be great.<BR>Regards Scott

    Hey scott. How old are you? Most rental companies will only rent if you are over 25. Not sure where you are from but driving in LA and SF can be tricky especially if you aren’t familiar with the area. Once you are out of the main cities its easier. I am not sure how long of a drive it is but you can check out on just plug in the info. Also what time of year? Weather plays a huge part in driving.

    Scottie, you’ll want to try a big national rental agency – Avis, Hertz, Budget, National to name a few, not sure which have restrictions on ages, if you want to start and end in different places.

    I would try Mapquest for the drive times, I did contiki tours and Yosemite to SF was a half day drive and SF to Santa Barbara was another half to full day (add another hour or two to LA).

    No advice on hotels though, probably not a ton of options near Yosemite and the ones that are there are probably more rustic.
