Question

Music to Get Me Psyched for Europe?

Hi all!

I'm from New York, NY and headed to Europe next week for 11 days. I'm super excited, but would love to get even more psyched by having a playlist of popular European songs. So far, I've just been listening to a lot of Yelle.

Any other suggestions for songs? Thanks so much!

Two songs I always heard while I was in Europe were…

    Mika- Love Today
    Bob Sinclar- Love Generation

So everytime I hear those two songs it always brings me back there.

I definately agree! Mika and Bob Sinclar were everywhere! I love it!!

And if you’re not into house/techno – you might want to brush up on it… hip hop doesnt go well over there – youll get maybe 1 out of 10 songs

I didnt expect that when i went over there – i was like, how do i dance to this? my tourmates ended up teaching me – but when a hip hop song came on, the floor cleared cause it didnt seem like they knew how to dance like that – so i put the moves on out there haha

that being said – daft punk is big too
I attached a pic of what our tour “play list” was like (hope it works)

Thanks for the responses so far…they’re very helpful! I’m familiar with Bob Sinclair, so that’s a start. Smiler<!--graemlin::)--> Good to know about the pop and hip-hop, since that’s what’s usually on my iPod. That’s hilarious about the dancefloor.

And yeah, either songs by European artists or songs popular in Europe…any recs are welcome!

This is an awesome thread. I would like to know the same stuff. Maybe if someone knows some good ibiza style trance that would be nice. That stuff always reminds me of some sort of travel.

You could go kinda naff and theme your songs to each country…
“London Calling” by The Clash for the UK
“Ca Plane Pour Moi” by Plastic Bertrand for Belgium (you’ll know it when you hear it…this is also one of the main songs in Euro Trip, and was the unofficial theme of our tour – brilliant)
“La Vie En Rose” by Edith Piaf for France
    and for the totally naff…
anything from the “Sound of Music” soundtrack for Austria…and, wait for it…
“We’re going to Ibiza” by the Vengaboys for Spain

    Enjoy!
