  Oh! The best free view of the Manhattan skyline is actually in a Stop and Shop parking lot in Queens, but an amazing view is on The Top of the Rock, in Rockefeller Center. (Around 52nd Street) Go at night when the Empire State building and the Chrysler Building are all lit up. It’s absolutely fantastic!!)

  Wow, I’ve been by that Stop and Shop a million times and I’ve never thought to check the view!
  Also, I was going to suggest Roosevelt Island. I play soccer there and the views are amazing. Fairly easy to get in and out of also.
