I too was wondering… I have read that you need a tie and jacket. Who takes a jacket and tie on a contiki tour??
So some advise from those who have been before would be great.- 0 people like this

You will never need a tie and jacket. A smart-looking collared shirt and dress pants will suffice.

Hi
The guys on my tour wore jeans and they were fine. Jeans and a nice shirt was fine.- 0 people like this

If you want to feel comfortable in those two situations, dress pants are the best. Mick took a shirt, tie and dress pants, no jacket necessary and neat black shoes. He had black hiking boots which were neat enough to wear out at night. Make sure you fold them neatly in your bag so you don’t have to worry about ironing.

i went to the monte carlo casino a few years back wearing an collared short sleeve shirt (untucked) and some casual cargo style pants and sneakers and had no problems getting in. However, this was in the day time. I’m not sure what goes on at night. I think anything conservative should be fine (no sandals, flip-flops, shorts, etc.). Despite a lot of stuff I read about dress codes in churches, etc., I saw a lot of people in very casual clothing come in and out. I think the only places that really are strict about dress codes are mosques.

My boyfriend and I went to both on our Eurolights tour. What the guys wore varied a bit amongst our group. Most wore a colored button down dress shirt, dress slacks, and dress shoes. You really need to dress like that to get into the Grand Casino in Monte Carlo but the other casinos you can get away with a little more relaxed. Nouvelle eve is a little more relaxed, mostly polos and dress pants or cargos.
No sneakers, no shorts, No flip flops. You can get away with black boots if they look classy enough, which is what my boyfriend did most of the trip for the nights out.- 0 people like this

That should be fine, I pretty much wore a Polo and Khakis with some black Lacoste slip-ons for the dress up things. There were a number of people who only wore sneakers though.
Our TM said the main thing is just to look neat/clean, as most of the places don’t care much if you aren’t wearing a Tie/Oxfords as long as you are presentable.
I wore the outfit above into the Casino in Monte Carlo, the Classical Music night in Vienna(which was a room filled with other tourists, who for the most part looked rather horrible in comparison to us(I.E My Polo made me feel Dressed up in that room.) and also to Moulin Rouge.
So personally I would think nice sneakers would be fine as long as they weren’t bright white or some bright neon colour. Brown or Black would be perfect.- 0 people like this
