Vatican City - pls help

Hi everyone
I am doing to London - Rome tour on the 9th of Sept 2007. We travel from Florence to Rome on a Saturday and then have Sunday in Rome. I see that the Vatican in closed on a Sunday, which happens to be bad timing for our tour. My question is, does anyone know if you arrive into Rome on the Saturday with enough time to see the Vatican before it closes?
