Staying on in London/Working holiday!!
Hey guys! I'm planning on getting a working visa and staying on in the UK after my contiki tour :) i'm doing the European Escapade 8th June! I'm wondering if any other travellers are doing the same thing or are thinking about it, also any advice from people who have already done this would be great! I'm going solo and plan to keep travelling over there so would be great to meet some new people :)

hey hannah, I’m heading over to the UK on July 12 from perth solo as well to do a top deck tour however a friend of mine has just come back from living in the UK for several months, one thing i would recommend is applying for your english tax file number equivalent as soon as you get over before going on your tour, as it will take a couple weeks minimum for it to be processed, and you can’t start working without it, I think its called a TIF but don’t quote me on it. also if you plan to keep travelling get your euro-rail pass before you head over, cause you can’t get it once your over there and train tickets will end up costing you a fortune.
Hi Hannah, I’m doing the same as you. I can get a 2 year working visa. I’ve paid a company called BritBound to do all the work for me – some might think negatively of that or it’s a waste of money, but for me it’s just easier plus it’s a support network in a way. They apply for my visa on my behalf, I get an oyster card (travel card), UK Sim, $10 credit on my sim, they sort out my bank account, I get a national insurance number, a 1 week gym membership, entry to ministry of sound, they help me with my CV and assist where they can with getting me a job, among other things.
I have just been scouring the internet a lot for tips about traveling for two years, and I’m feeling pretty confident that things will work out. I plan to backpack after my contiki (it ends on 20 July) and pick up work along the way.
Good luck! Not long to go now. I have a lot to organise. It’s a bit different packing for two years rather than a month long contiki…
Make sure the first thing you sort out is your national insurance number. I used global travel co and their way if helping with my NIN was to give me a number to call to get forms set out it took about 5 weeks
Lloyds bank only need an address and passsport to open a bank.
It’s east to do after a tour, I got here directly after a 6week stint in the US
