What do you wish you had known (for Australia)?

This topic is also in the general travel talk forum but no one really mentions anything about Australia.

Does anyone have any advice on what they would have done differently, brought with them, left at home, or just general recommendations for any of the tours in Australia.

I'm doing Bridge to Reef tour which goes from Sydney to the Whitsundays and then Cairns. Anything specific to add about these places?

  Sunscreen, Insect repellent, Raincoat / Poncho… You may also need an adapter / voltage converter if you are not coming from NZ. That’s about all i can think of.
