Scandinavia is very safe.
I’ve lived all my life here and haven’t had any problems anywhere. :-)
I usually go everywhere by myself even late at night and haven’t experienced any kinds of harassment, threats, etc.
Just keep an open mind and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time!
The problem is i’m planning to go there in november – there are no tours operating at that time.. it’ll be really really really cold, but still beautiful and good skiing i’m sure.
there are plenty of sightseeing tours, but no one offers any longer tours (understandably)
I would just go for it!! I’m sure you will meet plenty of people along the way!! <!--graemlin::)-->
Here are a few websites for you….
for more, you can google e.g. “winter travel scandinavia” and there are plenty of others.
Have you tried asking a travel agent in your own town? They might have some good offers for you. :-)
Thanks for your help guys… still no luck with the winter tours… thats ok though, i’m happy to do it by myself
Can anyone recommend any good hostels or cheap hotels in scandinavia?
Yes norway looks extremely expensive… thats why i’m not staying there for very long – haha. Hostel accomodation is nearly double the price of london hostel accomodation, and i found london to be quite expensive. Atleast the airfare between the cities are very cheap – $89 one way!!!
