Hi, just wanted to get some opinions on travelling around great britian and ireland after my contiki next august.
Im not sure whether to do it myself and have a bit more freedom, or do it on contiki?
Obviously i might save some $$ if i do it myself but it might be harder to get around and see everything worth seeing?
Cheers, Andrew

I did the Great Britain, Ireland and Scotland Tour last September with Contiki and I had a great time as you get to see some places that are harder to get to by public transport.

    Hi Andrew

I’m planning on doing the Ultimate European and then the Great Britain and Ireland tour straight after each other with contiki next year. With the first tour beginning in Aug.

    hi Andrew,

I am planning on doing the European Discovery tour next June, and than doing Great Britain and Ireland on my on after. After going over details with my travel agent, and what I wanted to get out of Great Britain and Ireland, it was best and money saving if I did it on my own. So my advice would be to figure out whatyou want most out of each place, and see if the tour matches up with it.

I am going on the Great Britian and Ireland tour this coming year. May 8th – May 29th…. In fact it will be my second time to go on the tour. I first went on it in 1999, and had such a blast, that I am planning on doing it again..

    Aimzy,
I am also doing the European discovery in June… what dates have youplaneed on?

My husband and I are going on the European Vista that leaves 13 Feb 2010. After that finishes (5 March) we are staying in London a couple days then hiring a car and driving around Scotland by ourselves. We’ve organised it so we can drop the car off at Aberdeen and fly from there back to London then back home to Aus. I think after spending 21 days on a bus with 30+ people you’ll be pretty sick of it and want some alone time.
