Should footwear be worn?
Whats the go with the showers?
Are they clean on contiki, and are there any communial showers (e.g. open football showers where everyone just showers together???)

haha the bathrooms! I have a severe issue with bathrooms, my girlfriends make fun of me alllll the time for it. The only place I had an issue was the Chalets in Switzerland. ALWAYS WEAR THONGS, actually just thinking about people who wouldnt wear thongs makes me feel sick. Take a plastic bag for your dirty stuff but put your clean stuff in it first so it doesnt get wet. Theres no “open” showers…though if you consider the shower with the peephole in Rome open then I guess there is! But dont stress too much, they’re relatively clean. Just a tip, if you can get there before everyone else flocks there, they’re generally in a pretty good condition.

Oh yes the bathrooms!
Every hotel was different. In Germany we didn’t have a door into the shower. In Athens we didn’t have a shower rod and the door wouldn’t shut. Some of the showers were teeny tiny (made it hard to shave your legs).
As for the public bathrooms, most don’t have toilet seats, be prepared to pay to use a toilet, and some were just a hole in the ground. For me the worst bathrooms were in Italy.- 0 people like this

i would have to say some showers are more interesting then others…in berlin there was a like half door thing..it was a tub shower so no curtain just the weird door thing which did nothing because you still got water all over the floor..lol. the one in prague i seem to remember being nice..it had a door or something i cannot remember and then vienna was nice…it even had shampoo dispensers..

Some of the bathrooms are very interesting. I found one in rome that used a foot pedal to pump the water into the sink in a public restroom.
Most hotel restrooms are small but clean. I always take my flip flops because you just don’t know.
I think the worse one was the bathrooms on the Greek ferries. you can litterally sit on the toilet wash your hands in the sink and take a shower at the same time. LOL
Just don’t drink any of the water from any of the bathrooms.- 0 people like this
