Question

Day Tour in London

4 Mar 2014 KateG asked

Hi, can anyone recommend a day tour to do in London that would get me to see all the main sights and attractions? I'm tossing up whether to do a hop on hop off bus tour or do a coach tour. I only have one day to see the sights as my Contiki tour after my London tour starts on one of the days that I had spare in London so my time is very limited :(
Thank you :)

Hi, I live in London, and I’ve heard that the hop on hop off bus tour is a great way to see the city. I’d recommend doing the London Eye and maybe some sort of boat cruise along the Thames, as well as all the other touristy things, have fun!

There is a hop on/off bus that includes thames river cruise. There are heaps of cool walking tours you can do, just google ‘walking tours london’ and you will get heaps of links. The london eye is aparently only worth it if it is a clear day, so I wouldn’t book it ahead of time, book it on the day (if you want to do it) and pay the line jump far, other wise you have to line up to collect your ticket, then line up to get on the eye, although on forums I’ve read it can only be a 15 min wait at times, so I guess it depends when you go. Evening is best for the london eye, but also probably busiest as it is great time for photos. If you want some links to tours etc here are some I’ve been looking into:
    http://www.timeout.com/london/walks

    hope this helps!

Thank you to both of you :)
That has helped me. I’m def going to do the London eye and I was thinking about paying more to get the fast pass to beat the line and was just tossing up whether to do the original tour or a hop on hop off but I will compare both of them now. Thanks for the links :)

Has anyone been to the ‘shard’ tourist attraction in London? That also looks really good.

Yeah it looks really really good!! I’m going to try and fit that and the London eye in on the same day. So much to see so little time lol. Viator is also a great website. When will you be in London Ashlee? :)

Yeah, there is def a lot to do, I just found another one I thought I would share, it has one day itineraries on it, http://www.visitlondon.com/things-to-do/sightseeing/one-day-itineraries?ref=nav
I’m in London for a week from 22-29th April, then returning to London from 18th May till 6th June, so luckily, I have heaps of time to check out all the attractions!
