What shoes for the day hike to Machu Picchu?
We have booked The Explorer tour for 7 November with the day hike into Machu Picchu - what type of footwear would we need for this day hike?

I’m heading to Peru on the adventurer next month so I’ve done a lot of research and asked people, a lot have said you can get away with normal runners/joggers :) otherwise if you want to purchase hiking boots that are non-slip etc you can! But even my friend said comfortable runners were fine :)
I’m also going next month and just planning on taking my runners. I don’t want to buy expensive hiking boots for one day that I’ll never wear again. Not a lot of hiking were I live so new boots aren’t practical.
Hey guys :)
I did Machu Picchu last year and I just did it in my running shoes and it was fine! i dont think anyone on my tour had hiking boots.
Hi guys for those of you that have done the Machu Picchu hike if you pay for the train you still hike or not? If so how hard is the hike ?
