  I like Jetblue, they have DirectTV at every seat and are cheaper.
  
  Virgin America is new and has a good reputation. Southwest has good prices too and people seem to love them. But you have to check in online early to be able to board early and get a good seat (they don’t assign seats).
  
  Jetblue allows the first checked bag for free, Southwest allows 2 free bags. I think every other airline charges a fee to check bags.
  
  The major carriers are Delta, American, Continental, US Air, and United
