There are tons of transportation options in most cities. Cheaper metro lines close relatively early in some places so depending on how late you want to stay, a taxi might be your only option. I am sure you could find some people on your tour to go out at night with you to make it cheaper. Just to let you know if you are staying at some places further outside the city it would be quite expensive and time consuming, but just be aware of that before you go.

yes taxis are very easy to find… the only thing is they will def. rip you off if you let them! Make sure they turn the meter on instead of making up a random amount once you get to your destination! lol it took us a good week to finally figure this one out and got the nerve to speak up! and just make sure you ask what the rates are b/c even if they have the meter on when you get to your hotel they’ll randomly charge you for having 2 people instead of 4 or the other way around lol. Amsterdam was the worst.. there were 8 of us in 2 cabs and I beleive we EACH paid 15 euros wich is about 30 US dollars for a 12 minute cab ride.. so those 2 men made 120 euros, 240 US….but lesson learned!
