  I would say just jeans, a pair of long johns (for if it is cold and you’ll be outside a lot). Then just layer your tops depending on temps, your outer layer and how much you’ll be outside.

  i am in new york in january as well and i have packed everythig i had last time – long johns thermal socks and thermal tops and im just layering with jackets gloves and beanie as yeah….way cold !
