  I travelled solo with Contiki last year to Egypt and it was awesome! You meet so many new people, I’ve kept in touch with most of them!
  
  Where/When are you going to NZ? I am doing the Scenic Southern (Anti-Clockwise) in Sept after I complete the Bridge to Reef tour in Aust.

  I am going to NZ in October, but due to the time of the scenic southern being in the middle of my trip, I wont be able to do contiki.
  
  I would like to, coz then there’d be company, but yeah ill be doing it alone.
  
  Im sure a lot of people go there alone and then make friends and go from there. Thats what ive done before when ive been interstate.

  I’m doing the Grand Explorer Auckland to Christchurch on October 28 and will be on my own. Looking forward to it though as haven’t ever been travelling by myself and can’t wait to meet everyone

  I just got back from the grand explorer and did it solo as did 70% of the bus!! it’s the best way to do it and meet new friends etc. Don’t worry about it at all! you will have an amazing time!

  Im doing the Grand Explorer starting 8th of October! I might have a friend coming with me though so Im not alone on this one but I have been by myself before and its really not that bad..pretty much everyone on your tour is solo so you make friends quickly and they’re friends for life :-)

  i think it is way better to go on your own because it forces you to meet the rest of the people on your tour and not just sit with your friend on the bus all the time. everyone is super pumped at the start of the tour so everyone is real friendly. its a bit harder if you are joining mid tour because people already know each other.

  I did NZ solo too, and i have to say that while i wouldve prefered to have been with pple most of the time, i enjoyed doing it on my own. Much better than saying oh yeah at this time i have to be here and so forth.
