Winter Tours - Best month to go ????

Hi,
I'm going to do the Winter Wanderer Tour in the 08/09 Winter.
I was just wanting to know what month is best to go? Since the tour runs from Oct 08 - Mar 09.
My main concern is reaching the top of Mt Pilatus, since my biggest reason for going to Europe is the Swiss alps to see/touch the snow. But also I don't want to miss out on things because it the middle of winter (sights)
Any advice would help.
