Edinburgh or Dublin?
12 Jun 2007 tannyboy asked
Okay well before i do my contiki tour im travelling around ireland and scotland but im trying to sort out my cheap flights across from dublin to edinburgh. I can either get an early flight in the morning or one late at night.
Im travelling around ireland for a week (with another company) but have two full days in dublin.
In Scotland im there for 3 days one reserved for a trip to loch ness
The question is would you stay another full day in dublin or edinburgh.
Cheers
Chris

I’ve been to Scotland two years ago and returned from Ireland last Thursday – looking back, I’d go for the extra day in Edinburgh.
Two full days for Dublin is more than enough – basically, it should be more than enough for Edinburgh too but when you’re done with Edinburgh you can easily and quickly go to Glasgow or Stirling by public transport – other places too if you have a rental car.
In Edinburgh I liked the Royal Yacht Britannia & the castle; in Stirling again the castle and –outside of the city the Wallace monument and the Pineapple House. Roslin Chapel (of “Da Vinci Code” fame) sounds interesting too.
I can’t recommend any particular sights in Dublin city – Book of Kells sounded nice but I missed the opening hours.- 0 people like this
