Paris and London - Worth It???

Hi Guys,
I really want to do the "London and Paris - extension Paris" contiki tour. It's only a 9 day trip, and I was wondering, is it worth the rush to see London and Paris in such a short amount of time? Or, would it be better to do my own holiday to these destinations, where I can spend more time to see them. Because, personally, I feel I need AT LEAST a week, in both countries!
