Arro –
I would be worried about it. I don’t drink myself and have read a few posts about it on this board (do a search).
Generally, the thoughts are that each tour will have a mix of ppl, some will want to party hard, others not so hard and some not at all.
Some ppl who do drink a lot, drink less on tour so they can experience Europe more ‘sober’. Others drink more on tour, considering that part of the experience.
I’m sure you will find ppl who are in a similar mind frame to you and you’ll have a blast

Also, you’ll be the one without the hangover the next morning on the bus. From what I’ve heard, if you want to see a lot: sit up the front

Tours have a very social atmosphere, often it is centered around drinking because people are at the hotel/campsite bar. But you don’t need to, and not everyone will be doing it. If anyone bugs you about it, tell them you’re a recovering alcoholic, it’ll stop them in their tracks.

Dont worry, you wont be alone. I am not drinking on my tour either unless it is included or someone else offers
<!--graemlin:;)-->. Not that I don’t enjoy a good drink, I would just rather my money and time go to gifts and sightseeing since I’ll only have 1 day in each place on the Euro Whirl.- 0 people like this

sorry to be one to burst your bubble phara335ci but i’m australian and won’t be “binge” or “competing” with fellow aussies. maybe the generalisation wasn’t the way to go because from my readings it appears that ALL countries are willing to have a drink for socialising reasons. Arro as answer for your question i’m not a drinker myself and having met the majority of my tour there’s some that definitely love a drink and others not so keen, i figure it’s all about the experience so good luck!!!!!!!

Hey Arro, u definately shouldnt worry about the drinking thing. I just came back a few weeks ago from a euro tour, im not much for drinking myself. Sure a lot of people will be hitting the drinks but there is no pressure. There will be other ppl that dont drink, so dont worry. You will have a blast! Plus u wont be feeling dodgy the next day on the bus like most people haha! We had ppl that would go out drinking till 6-7am, even if we had a wake up call around then to get ready for the next bus ride, believe me they weren’t feeling too hot hehe… But yeah, best of luck with ur trip, have an awesome time! You’ll meet so many great people! Take Care

Drinking is a big part of activities on Contiki tours. No one else on the tour cares what you decide to do, but if you have trouble with the excursion being an open bar canal cruise, or sometimes getting in so late to a location, when shops/tourist attractions are closed, that there is nothing else to do but drink, think twice about contiki.
I do drink, but I only drank 3 nights on my trip. There were definitely nights that I left the group because I wasn’t into drinking that night, but I didn’t care.- 0 people like this
