Hi all, I'm Hippie, aka Haley, doing my first Contiki tour in April, ridiculously excited re: same. This is my first overseas trip (not counting a school trip to Japan when I was a teenager), I'm travelling solo, and I have a few stupid questions I'm hoping someone can help me with:

1. Shoes. I know it's been said a thousand times before, but is three pairs (walking shoes, dressy shoes, thongs) really enough? What kind of walking shoes would you guys recommend? Sneakers seem a bit too casual, but would walking boots such as Colorados be too heavy?

2. Pyjamas (see, I told you these were stupid questions!) I'm not too fussed at the idea of the whole campsite seeing me in my Tweety Bird flannel PJs, but they could take up too much space in my pack. Would a t-shirt and trackies be a better option?

3. Digital memory. I'm considering taking about 8gb (4 2gb cards), is this enough?

4. Amsterdam. "Coffee Shops". Brownies/cookies. You all know where I'm going with this. Good idea/bad idea? Did anyone indulge? How was it? Wink

5. Internet access. How often do you have a chance to get to an internet cafe? I'll need to check my email pretty regularly on the tour, and my phone isn't techy enough to make this possible.

6. Sleeping bags. I'm tossing up between buying one before I go and paying the extra luggage cost, or buying one when I get to London. Are the ones sold at Contiki okay?

7. Getting to Contiki from Heathrow - I'm a total moron when it comes to maps, so is this journey fairly idiot-proof, or will I end up in Glasgow by accident?

8. Who else is doing this trip??? Look forward to having a beer with you all! Cool
