Meals on tours?

12 Feb 2011 Chris713 asked

I'm doing 2 European tours later this year and I was wondering what sort of food is included in the meals provided? Like for breakfast are there a choice of different things to eat? And dinners are they mainly cooked meals or do you go to restaurants and have a large choice?

I'm just a strict healthy eater and don't want to eat too much junk while away, want to be sure there is enough choice for that. Thanks

ps im doing european escapade and greek island hopping tours starting may!!

Breakfasts are typically yogurt, toast, cereal, deli meats, maybe some fruit, maybe something hot – nothing fancy.

Dinners always have a salad or soup, a main course with a meat, potato, and a veggie, and then a dessert. It will be balance food, though I wouldn’t guarantee healthy food. It’s generally not fried foods, more likely to be quite savory instead.

The greek island hopping might be a little different since it’s a cruise.

i went on the egypt tour and while we were on the nile cruise, there were a LOT of vegetables & fruits available. so maybe the greek cruise is the same way?
