  Short answer-yes they are :).

  In terms of what to pack..I’m a guy so I can’t really say lol. Just a holiday like anywhere else for spring/developing summer. In the mediterranean countries it will start to get hot (30s) but north it won’t be as hot, yet still getting warm. So my advice would be to take a bit of both.

  I’m heading out to Italy in end-june for the first time, so all I can say is that after reading many of the threads here and advice, short shorts can be worn… but you just need to bring something if you ever want to visit churches. Some don’t accept people going in if they’re wearing short shorts or displaying their shoulders. Otherwise, I think you’ll be okay. :)
