  Most of the South America tours only run approx once a month and for any that go through Peru, I think Contiki avoid February as that is when Machu Picchu closes for the whole month for maintenance, plus it’s also in the rainy season.
  The Argentina & Brazil tour starts 8th Feb and ends on the 17th in time for Carnivale (17-21st Feb).

  I could be wrong, but that’s my theory :D
