March to May are New Zealand’s autumn months. While temperatures are a little cooler than summer. The average temperature is 18C (65F). The warmer temperatures are towards to top of the North Island, and as you travel further South the temperatures will drop. So it wise to pack some warm clothing, and a wet weather jacket.
