Where to go?

Hi, I'm from Australia, never really travelled before and can't find anyone to go with. So I'm thinking about a contiki tour. Can anyone suggest a tour with not too much time spent on a bus? I was thinking one of the Thailand island hopping tours for this reason, but I want to go anywhere really.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I’m going on the LA explorer and LA to the Bay in dec, and there doesn’t seem to be that much time on a bus, because its all so close to each other.
