  I think I will be on this trip with you! Are you doing the Whitsynday sailing tour? I am getting so excited and have been waiting way too long to visit Australia!

  I will also be staying at the hotel before the trip begins, but I get into Darwin Oct. 30!

  I haven’t booked my flights to Darwin yet, but I’m going to be in Melbourne from the 20th until the trip starts, and then I’m going back to Melbourne after.

  I have family in there, so I never really did the really touristy things. But I would recommend going to an Aussie Rules Football game, there a lot of fun and nothing like what you can see here in North America. The Melbourne Zoo is pretty amazing as well, and I would suggest going to the St. Kilda district, its a lot of fun.

  This will be my first visit to Oz…planning on staying in Sydney for a few weeks once the tour finishes then heading back to the UK mid Jan – so any recommendations for xmas/NY would be appreciated:)

  I’m an Aussie but live in the West side… i have travelled all over, and if you REAAAALLLY want the typical ‘Aussie’ trip, you gotta come to Western Australia, or go to Queensland. The Eastern states have wishy-washy weather (spesh Melbs) and they only had a weeks worth of hot weather last Summer! (so a friend in Melb told me). Melbs is very cultural and fashion/food based… not so much beaches/outdoors etc like W.A + QLD. But it really is worth the visit, Melbourne is awesome :-)
