Advance Purchase of Entry Tickets - how do i know??

Ok, so I know what is included in my tour, and what are optional extras. My question, is how do i know what tickets/ entry passes i should buy in advance for things that aren't included or aren't optional extras?
Ok, do i need to pay entry to go to the sistine chapel, or is this included? Same for places like the Lourve.
I really don't want to waste hours of my day in a queue when i can pre-purchase entry!!
