Question about drinking
Hello everyone is it true that people who go on contiki trips to America just go to get drunk every night? I need a truthful answer as i am planning to go on the Grand Southern From LA on the 8th if December

I’d be 80% certain that a lot of people will be drinking.
I did the same trip in January and there is defiantly a level of drinking…of course there were a few that didnt and in all honesty everyone still talks to everyone and gets along regardless.
My last trip was a few years ago now and it was really up to the individual on how much you drank – I did a 21 day tour and I’d say only about 10 nights I drank because I wanted to be able to see everything and not be hung over! Nobody cared though and there was certainly no pressure to drink!. Have fun on your trip – I’d love to go on this one! :)
I just did the Grand Southern, finished in Sept. It’s true theres a lot of drinking but our group kind of had half party/drink/stay out till 4am every night, then people that would still have a great time but not drink so much and go to bed a lot earlier. But everyone still mixed, people got along with everyone and people didn’t care if others didn’t drink or party hard every night. It’s a long trip so you have to pace yourself lol
I have just done a Contiki in Europe and looking to do my 2nd Trip. I’m going to do Greek Island Hopping, Oktoberfest & The Grand Southern Next year. My group was a real party group. There were 3 people who didn’t drink. I drink but not much.. We all stayed out till 3am most nights even the ones who didn’t drink.. No one really cares if u drink or not as long as you are having fun and try to be part of the group~
This is a difficult question to answer as every tour is different as the atmosphere regarding drinking and partying is dependant on the people. I have done several contiki trips and in some cases back to back tours, so I paced myself rather than getting drunk every night I would have a couple of drinks and still socialise. People wont care that you are drinking but you still need to be willing to socialise so you dont exclude yourself.
