merging tour groups

I suppose this is a question for the contiki moderators/staff...
I've just noticed that a few separate tours are running at the same time. And their itineraries are almost identical (i.e. Best of USA NY leg is the same as Big Apple Explorer, and I think it's the same story for LA Scene, with the LA leg of Best of USA).
So... just out of curiosity, do the groups "merge"? I can imagine that's gona be one massive bonding session on those organised dinners =D
