Ya, i’ve read the tripadvisor reviews also. I think the Imperial would be a better choice. Are we allowed to substitute a different hotel on the Contiki tours?

Oh wow, why hasn’t the contiki staff changed hotels? I would hope after hearing several complaints and bad reviews, something would be done about this.

I am hearing the same thing. I called Contiki to complain and they said there is nothing they can do.

Oh God, that’s one of travelers worst nightmares, I would’ve gone mental at the hotel! I’m considering this trip, but that makes me super nervous… maybe we should chain out suitcases to the bed …
Have they changed hotels yet??? Which hotel do you stay at in France?- 0 people like this

I’m doing the London, Paris, Amsterdam tour and the Paris hotel for that is Hotel Ibis Porte De Bercy Charenton Le Pont, which doesn’t look like much, and the Amsterdam hotel is Blue Square Amsterdam, which seems pleasant.

I stayed at the Imperial Hotel for six days this year (I came two days early). No one during our tour was robbed, but like any place, be careful and don’t leave valuables laying about when you leave the room/hotel.
I met the chambermaid and her son who cleaned our floor. They were both very nice. They were from Sir Lanka and lived on our floor as well. I didn’t ask, but I got the impression they didn’t make very much money working at the hotel. Just be courteous to the staff.
Overall I liked the Imperial Hotel better than the one we had in Paris. Better located, more accessories (wireless internet worked, internet kiosk for those without computers, bar/restaurant in hotel where we hung out the first night. The breakfast is not very good though, I found out I wasn’t a banger and mash kind of guy. Some of us decided to eat at nearby restaurants instead of taking the free meal. The hotel also has a casino, where you get $10pounds ($20US) just for entering and signing up for pass). I played it on the roulette table and lost it very promptly, but it was still fun to go to for half an hour.
The rooms are a little small, but that is Europe for you. The hotel staff always cleaned the room very nicely by the time I got back. The shower/ bathroom was functional. Overall I was impressed by the Imperial Hotel….mostly because of location, location, location. Not very far from the entertainment/clubs. Metro only two blocks away.
The Paris Hotel where we stayed at had amazing food, but had terrible location. Its alright if you are only staying for the regular tour (Contiki buses you into town everyday), but I stayed for the two day extension and had to find my own way to and fro. One night it took me 3 hours to figure out the transit system and finally make it back after we finally found a taxi). We should of just taxi’ed it right away but we didn’t realize buses only ran to our hotel until 7pm.- 1 person likes this
