Contiki uses cheap and bad hotels?

  I wouldn’t stress to much about the hotels. They are not going to be the Ritz by any means but they are clean and given how much time you actually spend there all you really need is a clean bed. I had 2 friends do contikis last year as well as another friend that just got back from her contiki 2 weeks ago and they all said the same thing, “don’t go in expecting anything 5 star and you wont be disappointed, most of the hotels are average tourist class (2 and 3 star) hotels”..there will generally be one that everyone dislikes but the others are usually par or better.

  so what happens if the room is found to be not clean? do you approach your Tour manager or the hotel directly?

  I recently went on contiki and all the hotels and cabins we stayed in were Clean and comfortable. Yes they can be really small but at the end of the day you are only there to sleep. Not that you will get much sleep anyway with all the partying. The bathrooms were really old and i think they need doing up but over all i was happy with the accommodation.
