Ekit Sim cards

just wondering if you get an ekit sim card with all your contiki stuff or whether you have to purchase one via the site?
i leave in a week and am picking up my tour documents from my travel agent tomorrow and am starting to get worried about keeping in contact with family.
i have a pre-paid phone through telstra and have had it unlocked so that i can put an international sim card in it.
i took it from reading other peoples comments about the ekit card that you receive one with your documents and then load up on credit.
could someone please give me some more details about this and whether in fact i do need to purchase one online before i go, or as a last resort are sim card easily available for purchase so i can put it in my phone and msg members of my family?

i brought one for my trip, and i wouldn’t do it again! it was about 80 cents a text and i found people that had brought Sim cards in London that got great rates in most countries! Calling is very expensive too!

I just reactivated my Ekit SIM and it doesn’t have the service numbers (Recharge, Check Balance etc) on the SIM anymore …. Does anyone have the list of service numbers or knows the link to the page that lists them??

ooh..the ekit has a sim card now? don’t remember using the sim…the one i used was calling an operator number as given in the card, punch in my pin number and dial home..a prepaid sort of thing …brought the credit online before i left for my trip

If you follow down the page you will the section which is labeled activating your service.
There you will see the option for the user guide, when you download the user guide , it will give you the information needed.
