How much spending money for Mexican Grande?

Hi,
Can someone please tell me how much spending money i will need approx for the Mexican Grande? Also how safe is Mexico? I will be going by myself but i have heard alot of bad things about Mexico being un safe..

Money wise, you should budget for about $US100 per day; some days you will spend more (sightseeing, entry etc) than others (bus/travel days).
