Gday,
I did the Winter Wild Western in March 2010 and loved it!!! I found that I didnt really wear shorts often. Did so in LA and San Diego, also on the Bike ‘n’ Roll optional in San Francisco.
Other than that I wore jeans most of the time which resulted in me buying another pair over there. At that time of the year its more jacket and long pants type weather.
The Grand Canyon was really cold, particularly in the cabins at night, we really had to rug up. And obviously Lake Tahoe is a great ski location in winter. You can hire snow weather gear in Tahoe, the place we hired from was right next to the hotel.
It was fairly decently priced. I hired a Snowboard, boots, overhauls and snow jacket for a day at around $60 US.
If your interested in partying and clubbing there is also plenty of that so pack accordingly.
Hope you have a blast on your trip, if you have any other questions don’t hesitate.- 0 people like this

I did the tour a few years ago in February and I think I didn’t have to wear my winter coat in LA, it was pretty cold everywhere else.
