Hey guys. I am pretty sure I am going to book this trip!! Can’t wait. Would anyone be up to do some independent backpacking after this trip in May down trough Thailand to Singapore and into Indonesia? I would love to hit up all the little beach town and see the amazing beautiful beaches. Also, I have a contact in Jakarta that offered to show me around and be like a tour guide. It’s so much more fun traveling with others, so I am just putting this out there. Let me know -Michelle

Hi there
I’ve just booked the Asian Adventure part of this trip starting 1 April – great to see that there are already a few of us signed up! I will probably be arriving the day before – is anyone else staying the night before at the Contiki hotel?

Hey Guys :) my name is Georgie, I’m heading on the big Indo adventure as well! Flying Solo and its my first overseas trip! im so excited!!! It’s so good to know you guys will be at the hotel the night before, we should all try and get together for a drink and an introduction the night of the 31st if possible.
Is anyone getting in on the 30th? I will be doing a tour of the tiger temple on the day of the 31st, anybody else doing site seeing before the trip starts?

Hey Georgie
I’ll be arriving the afternoon of the 31st so will probably be starving by the evening – what time do you get in from your day trip? Perhaps a few of us can get together and find someplace to have dinner?I’d also be interested in doing some exploring on the 1st of April (seeing as we only meet up with the rest of the group in the evening). I really want to go see the Reclining Buddha which I believe is quite close to our hotel (and whatever else is close by and not included in the Contiki tour). Hopefully I won’t be suffering with too much jet-lag!!!! Is anyone else keen to do that?

Thanks Georgie – I will definitely drop you a mail closer to the time.
If anyone else is interested in meeting up for dinner on the evening of 31 March or keen to tag along for some exploring on 1 April, please do join in – will be great to have a group of us and meet a few tourmates before the tour starts!!! :)Hi Nevy, to answer your question about suitcase vs backpack, I’m not sure myself yet – I would definitely prefer to take a suitcase (I’ve read on a few other discussions that people have taken suitcases without any problems) but I saw in our documentation that they recommend taking an overnight bag as well, so I might take along a small backpack for that purpose. I guess it all depends on how much I want to bring along with me on the trip (and how much shopping will be done on the trip!)! Haha.

Here is what somebody who wrote a big list of tips for this trip said:
Every hotel we stayed in had, in fact every plug I saw was, a universal adaptor wall outlet. This means that it doesn’t matter if you are from the UK, Canada, Australia, or the US, your home plugs will fit in their wall outlets. The thing for people from the US to consider is that they run 220V, NOT 110V like the US. So you need a converter (to convert 220V→110V) not an adapter (to make the plug fit). Luckily, many travel electronics such as laptops and camera chargers have 220/110 universal capabilities. Check your travel electronics and see. You may not need anything.- 0 people like this
