Gluten Free food in America
11 Feb 2012 LeahR asked
Hi guys.
I have Coeliac disease so I am on a very strict gluten free diet. I am going on the Grand Northern tour in August 10th. Just wondering if anyone has traveled through America on a Gluten Free diet.
Any advise would be great.
Thanks Leah

How did you go Leah? I did the Grand Southern – gluten and dairy free. I really struggled in some places and ending up losing weight!! I basically lived on salads. Now I’m going to Europe and I’m just as worried :s

Hi Sarah. I had so much trouble in America. There were days I only had one meal. Europe is fine. There is heaps of gluten free options and they are really yummy. I have been to Europe a few time and had no problems. If you can find the translation cards for the countries you are going to that makes it a tad easier. Have a great time.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think I can download an app to help me with that. That’s good to know….could be hard to live off salad in winter! Thanks.
