Hello. This will be my third Contiki tour (I have also done the Athens/Greek Island Cruise as well as Eastern Road) so needless to say, I am pumped! I still talk to many of the people from my previous experiences so I am looking forward to meeting new people. Anyone else going on this trip? If so, where are you from? I live in downtown Nashville, Tennessee in the USA. If you have any questions, comments, etc. let me know. Regardless, give me a shout out so we can have a discussion thread with everyone in the group!

Hi there, I’m going on this tour too. It’s my first Contiki tour, so I’m very excited! I’m from LA in California.

This will be your first of many. Contiki does a great job balancing the sightseeing and experiencing the culture.

I’m going too! It’s my first trip, and first time out of the country. I go to Arizona State University. Do you veterans have any tips on staying safe? My whole family is worried that I’m going to get mugged lol.

i would say be aware of your surroundings and don’t wonder off by yourself. just trust your instincts. if something doesn’t feel right then it probably isn’t. you’ll be with the group for most of the time so chances are you’ll never be alone.

I agree. You will very quickly get to know everyone in the group and at any given time will be with several people, so definitely do not be shy on day 1! Since I am 6 foot 3 and 250, I don’t get bothered too much haha. But in all seriousness the only time I have heard any issues occur is if someone drinks themselves beyond oblivion and walks down a strange alley by themselves. Also, there may be a lot of gypsies that are very good at pickpocketing, so I usually use a hidden pouch for my cash and cards.
