Scandinavia and Russia 22day advice?!

Hi, i'm thinking of going on the 22 day trip to Scandinavia and Russia and am not sure of an overall budget I should be thinking of? Was there much ontop of the ticket and flights to be spent?
I'm kind of in toss up betwen this and a global interrail pass at the moment so any information you could give me would be great!
