Waterproof Camera

Hey
I am going on the Grand Explorer Auckland to Christchurch June 30 and I was wandering if it is worth taking a waterproof camera with me or just take a standard camera that ive got??? Any advice would be good :)

I did the NZ explorer in Dec 11. You don’t need a water proof camera.Just take a standard one.
