Bed Bugs....

SO I am booking a Contiki in Europe next week 
and have be readign around non-stop. A few of the people on here have made metion about bed bugs, and I have heard that bed bugs are pretty contagious in Europe.
I happen to be super allergic to Mosquitos (I have had to go to the hospital twice after bites that swelled really bad. )
So I was wondering how bad they were, if contiki ever gets them and what they do about them, and if theres some way to prevent bites and carrying them.
Just wondered if anyone could help me with this information.
