planning a trip in summer 2009 - need help!

heyy im a 20 year old from canada who wants to do a contiki trip
I know which one i wanna take and that's the Med Highlights - the itinerary is just perfect, it's exactly what i want...i just have some concerns cuz ive never done a group tour
first off, exactly how much free time do u get on a daily basis? b/c it would be nice to do what I want for a while i.e. go to the beach, a bar, etc
also i want to travel alone instead of coming with a friend....good idea or no?
