Things to see in London in evenings (NOT bars/pubs/clubs/etc)

I'll be spending three days in London in just over a week and will be staying at the Royal National, and have found a million things I want to see and do in London during the day, but I'm not sure about the evenings.
A lot of the touristy places close around 6pm, but it won't get dark for a while afterward and I was wondering if people know of any places to visit in the evening (excluding bars/pubs/clubs; I'm thinking more along the lines of museums, art galleries, historic buildings, etc.)
Thoughts?
