Packing: is the recommended list enough?"

18 Jun 2012 Terra asked

I'm doing the 26 day Grand Southern tour with 4 days beforehand and afterwards starting in the middle of December. Because I'm going in the US winter, I'm thinking that it'll be better to use Europe's Winter packing list.

But....Is this enough? Has anyone been on this tour at this time of year who can speak about what clothes to take. Especially since I'm from North Qld (Australia) where the coldest we get is 10'C.

Warm clothes! It get quite cold especially when you get to Washington and New York. I found layers were great and would recommend thermals. A good winter jacket is a must… A lot of people bought one over there (Walmart). Also shoes that suitable for snow…. Once again people bought them over there
